This module introduces learners to the systems and procedures required for a high quality Accommodation Operation  also popularly known as housekeeping services. Emphasis is given to various aspects of housekeeping, facility management and management skills and knowledge that will help learners to emerge as well rounded accommodation personnel.

This course is for you if:

• You are desirous of getting a job in the housekeeping department of hotel, hospital, or any other organisation.
• You are already working in this department and want to improve your knowledge that will enable you to enhance your career
• If you are an entrepreneur and want to start your organisation where housekeeping services will be required or you wish to start a facility management/ contract housekeeping firm.

 

Content/ Syllabus Overview

To succeed in this module, students must;

• Describe the operational and supervisory aspects of running an accommodation operation to the requirements of an international client
• Investigate the basic principles and procedures to be employed
• Examine the range of accommodation provided and the regular processes of cleaning and maintenance necessary to ensure the facilities and accommodation meets the customer requirements
• Explore measures which influence and affect the facilities department
